Time: 20 min ago and systematically.

Systematically idling, attacking grounded aircrafts with jet and just bad player.

Okay so, we have been having several problems with this player since 2020 throughout 2021 (we have an archived ban topic about it), and the ban ended up being permanent and it got lifted in the middle of 2023 following an yearly purge.

Now.. with meric I have tried to communicate with remote server chat a couple of times, but I was not successful; mainly to inform him about stop idling and to not be a jerk in the server (he's been reported stealing enemy vehicles and parking them in uncaps, as well as "blocking spawns" at the Refinery; and now we have TAI-LUNG's report breaking the Grounded Aircraft rule)...

I would really like to try to talk some sense into this old fella but, from experience, it is a very hard deal to talk to him. At this moment he is temporarily banned from the server, AGAIN.... I don't know, it seems like we are made to be the bad guys but.. I can not spoon-feed him the rules and the courtesy necessary to play the game properly: he has to want to curb his own behaviour because otherwise these bans will keep on coming.

Update: today I played quite a few rounds in Alte Garde A2, I was able to find a load of "friends" over there, and get the know them better. Amongst this group of fine ol' chaps there was meric, who finally paid attention (or so I hope) to my overprotective mouth yapping and optimistically he understood about long, repeated, idling; as well as not breaking our Grounded Aircraft rule or being a jackass in general. Will he remember?

Will he do it again? No guarantee, he didn't gave me high hopes of curbing his behaviour. It's like he gives up, once he receives the ban, it's done for him: whatever the reason was, doesn't care to make up for it, it was "the admin's decision". Welp I tried to over-explain everything, multiple times, until he felt offended because it was really sounding like I was scolding a child (his words, he used the phrasal "to tell somebody off for something").

Oh, during the encounter meric (no, not a Member, I'm just linking flag and profile) let me know that he was banned from our Forums too... the ban reason was that he behaved (guess what) like a child. Personally I recall that there was some nasty stuff flying around through email channels and the shoutbox; it's been a while now so the Forum ban gets lifted, just like the long-term BF2 ban was last year.

The temporary (short) 2 weeks ban has now been lifted.
How long before he gets banned again? Bets are open...

Sleeping on wake island server again

Speaking of sleepers though... I have noticed that on W W for example there are 6 to 8 sleepers at times? Have you ever noticed this TAI-LUNG? I guess because the server is so often highly populated, that the number of AFK people grows along with the players number but... it looks to me like - contrary to how we handle it over here - sleepers are welcome to stay there.

You see.. when you have a 6+ or 8+ boost in player numbers it helps quite a bit, especially to draw in new players... as long as things are kept balanced at all times (meaning that the sleepers are distributed evenly between the teams), there are more benefits than drawbacks.

Especially when most of the other servers have increased number of fake players (the 0ms artificial idle bots). Having that sort of boost from human players that leave their PC connected to the server (like Meric or LORDOFDESTRUCTION77 often end up doing.. ) helps you to be one of the top servers, and to stay there.
